We are emen8, and we are for a future free from the fear of HIV transmission.
emen8 is a sexual health initiative that empowers gay, bi+ and other men who have sex with men (cis and trans) to protect themselves and each other by talking openly, testing regularly and treating early.
Whether you’re new to the country, new to the community, or just navigating new sexual health norms, we’re here for you.
Because we’ve been there. We get it. And we know how to help you find your way.
emen8 is produced by gay and bi+ men and queer people. We take a sex-positive approach and aim to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
Building on our deep roots in HIV activism, Emen8 brings together credible, evidence-based health advice and connects you to tools, testing, support, and care you can trust. We promise peace of mind and total sexual freedom, on your terms. So you can confidently make the right choices for your life.
emen8 is supported by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
Meet the emen8 team
Joel Evans
Joel Evans (he/him) is a Gadigal-based writer and Digital Engagement Specialist for emen8. He holds a Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies from Macquarie University, as well as a Master’s in Ancient History. Outside of work, Joel writes historical fiction novels and enjoys a night out on Oxford Street.
Oli McAuslan
Oli McAuslan (they/them) is a queer, non-binary writer and designer based in Naarm (Melbourne). Oli holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Gender Studies from the University of Sydney. Since 2024, they have been the lead writer and editor of the emen8 website. Their work spans the intricacies of identity, health, pleasure, and culture for queer, trans, and gender-diverse folk. In their spare time, you can find them reading queer fiction or perusing vintage fashion markets.
Tony Sriprom
Tony Sriprom (he/him) is the National Campaign Planner for emen8. Originally from Thailand, he moved to Australia in 2018 and brings a diverse background in brand marketing and advertising. Before transitioning into health promotion, Tony worked across global brands including Crocs and Under Armour. Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time with his partner, going on walks with his puppy, and enjoying Naarm’s (Melbourne) gay nightlife.
Kat Tait
Kat Tait (he/they) is emen8’s social media guy by day and vampire drag king, Count Fuckula, by night. He uses his main personality trait — being a queer, trans, autist — to curate and protect Emen8’s online presence. Their passions include: community, health promotion, shitposting, safe online spaces, and rollerblading.
Jonno Weiss
Jonno (he/they) is a proudly bi+ guy living on Gadigal and Wangal lands in Sydney. He is the manager for HIV and Sexual Health Campaigns at ACON (that emen8 sits in) combining a passion for LGTBQ+ health with their passion and experience in marketing and communications. Outside of work, Jonno is mostly preoccupied keeping their dog Callie entertained, attending queer events, or very slowly learning how to sew their own clothes.
Chris Williams
Chris (he/him) moved from the UK to Australia over a decade ago and unexpectedly found his life’s purpose in HIV activism and LGBTIQ+ health communications. He co-founded PrEP’D For Change, Australia’s largest online PrEP community, before joining the emen8 Project, which he loves and now leads. Chris lives in Naarm (Melbourne) with his very handsome partner and their chronically needy cat and spends his downtime making DJ sets for an audience of approximately three people and one cat.

Supporting Organisations
Thorne Harbour Health
Thorne Harbour Health is one of Australia’s largest LGBTI community-controlled organisations – providing services and advocacy for the wellbeing of our LGBTI communities and people living with HIV. Established in 1983, the organisation was founded to lead the community response to HIV and AIDS. Today, Thorne Harbour honours that legacy as it responds to a broad range of issues affecting our gender, sex, and sexually diverse communities – including sexual health, family violence, mental health, alcohol and drug use, and trans health.
ACON
ACON is Australia’s largest health promotion organisation specialising in community health, inclusion and HIV responses for people of diverse sexualities and genders. Established in 1985, ACON works to create opportunities for people in our communities to live their healthiest lives.
